A twin mattress measures 38 by 75 inches and is the standard size for a child, a bunk bed, a daybed, or a guest room that has to double as something else.

We carry twin mattresses at liquidation prices in east Charlotte. Because our stock comes from overstock and store liquidations, a twin here is often a name brand at a price closer to a budget mattress, and the selection changes week to week.

If you are buying for a child, a firmer mattress usually holds up better through the years they will use it. If the bed is a bunk, check the maximum mattress thickness the frame allows before you buy — many bunks cap it at six inches for safety. If the sleeper is tall or still growing, look at a twin XL, which is five inches longer.
