Coddle builds these to be used, not to be endured. The difference between a good sleeper and a bad one is what you feel through the mechanism at three in the morning, and that is entirely a question of how the frame and the mattress are built rather than how it looks folded up.
Open it in the store. Every sleeper looks the same closed. Lie on it, feel whether the bar sits under your back, and check how much effort the mechanism takes, because whoever is making up the bed for guests is usually doing it one-handed with an armful of sheets.
Measure two things: the wall it sits against, and the clear floor in front of it, because a sleeper needs room to open that a normal sectional does not.
